The Gerber Brothers are a gospel singing duo based out of Plymouth, Minnesota and have been singing gospel music for over 50 years. Growing up in a large family on a small hobby farm in Anoka Minnesota, there was always plenty of music in the home with singing around the piano with brother Gary playing. Singing southern gospel is where the group honed their talent listening to the Statesmen Quartet, the Blackwood Brothers, the Happy Goodman Family, The Hinson’s and many more.
The Gerber Brothers trio (Gary, Jim, and John) was established in 1970 out of Souls Harbor Calvary Temple church in downtown Minneapolis. They could be regular heard on WCCO, KNOF and KTIS.
They made several albums and toured across the Midwest region of the United States for 10 years having the privilege to share the stage with the Lowell Lundstrom family crusades, Stewart Hamlin, Evie Tornquist, Nicky Cruz (The Cross and the Switchblade), Imperials and many other local artists.
In 1980 Jim and John recorded an LP called Home Where I Belong and then later would embark on to working solo engagements on their own. In 1989 Jim joined the Chancellors Quartet and later the Tribute Trio and has several albums with those groups. John relocated to Phoenix Arizona and was ‘resident in artist’ at Tommy Barnett’s Phoenix First Assembly of God church. John recorded several Donkey Ollie children’s animated albums and recorded the album In Christ Alone. Appearing on TBN and 100 Huntly Street television stations and touring nationally for 10 years.
In 2023, when the idea of a REUNION surfaced, and twins Jim and John Gerber decided it would be fun to reunite and begin a duo group again. The rich vocal harmonies are typical of a family singing together. Their roots are southern gospel, and they still sing Gaither music, classic hymns with some new contemporary songs.
With decades of concerts and recording experience behind them they are ready for a new chapter. We are available to perform at churches, senior homes, banquets, private events, fairs and more. We are looking forward to the Reunion experience and to seeing what God has in store for us. See you soon and May God Bless!
